HD Backup/Mirroring Software

HD Backup/Mirroring Software - 01/03/12 10:15 PM

Hey Everyone,

Two questions: (1) what are you using to mirror your c drive. Is that the same software you are using for typical backups?

(2) Drobo recently announced it was ending drobocopy as part of its package. Which software package will you purchase to make up for the loss? Will it handle question #1 above?

Thanks

I use Second Copy version 8.0. It is a simple little $30.00 program that will copy changes to contents of one folder to another folder at the intervals requested. I only use it to copy my photos onto an external hard-drive. It does not help for application redundancy.

I have used it for several years with no problems.

Thanks, David. For some reason when I try to make a back-up of the HD, the computer fails. It tells me that it cannot make a system back-up. I have made an image of the drive and a boot disc of the laptop...but I cannot back it up on-going, which is frustrating.

I was on the drobo website and they are recommending the following programs:
* Acronis TrueImage
* Microsoft’s SyncToy
* EMC Retrospect
* Allway Sync
* Memeo AutoBackup
* NTI Backup Now

Does anyone have any experience with any of these?

James
