Nikon D800 and D800 E - 02/07/12 03:35 PM

I was just over at DPReview and saw their hands on pre-view of the new Nikon D800 and 800E. They look really, really awesome.

This looks like a fabulous camera, no doubt. If someone wanted to give me one, I'd happily take it. smile But personally, I think I'm sticking with the DX sensor, because of the 1.5X magnification factor. Also, not for nothing, the price. I know that the FX is a better, sharper, more wonderful sensor, but I'm waiting for Nikon to come out with an update to the D300. What the hell is taking them so long?

D800E will be my next camera. At the size I print, this is going to be a wonderful tool.

As for the D400, it will come soon. The D700 replacement took longer than anticipated, and the D300s is not as old as the D700, so next in line....lol. Add in Nikon's amazing recovery from the natural disasters they have been hit with and its understandable why things are taking a while to get out. Patience.....lol.

Roman, you're right. I totally forgot about that tsunami thang. Japan is still digging out. I certainly know. I just bought a 2012 Honda Civic. smile

The specs on this new camera are very interesting...I was somewhat surprised by the 36 megapixels, those raw files are going to be huge, but all in all it looks like a fun camera.
