White German Shepherd, backlit in the snow

White German Shepherd, backlit in the snow - 04/22/07 03:52 AM

My son's dog, Zero, was romping in the snow on a little ridge above me. The sun was very low in the late afternoon. (Canon 1D MKII with EF 70-200 L IS lens)

Great shot up against the sky-foreground, mid, and sky. Tail is out of focus though; same problem I have with my Canon. Very precise and a limited depth of field with a low f-stop

Lack of DOF at wide open is not exclusive to just Canon's it's universal. bsvirginian

I agree that the dog is beautiful. I wonder how rare white GSDs are. It makes him look positively wolfish.

We just had the White German Shepherd nationals in Illinois last year. A friend of mine just got their second white GS pup. They are not as rare as they used to be.
Your sons dog is lovely!
