Happy 4th of July

Happy Fourth of July to all!

OK, I actually took this last year, but it is one of my favorites. Also won a local photo competition with this one.

I was just playing with lighting, and as usual the big guy just posed, looking straight ahead. He would not move! Then a bird landed outside the window and he looked to the side just as I hit the shutter. I love the result.

Really nice! I like how the "beam" of light falls right on his eyes.

Yeah, the "beam of light" was also an accident that I didn't see until later. Using flash, some things are hidden until you take the photo.

The flag just happened to have a wrinkle there, and when he turned his head it all fit together! Honestly, I couldn't have set that up if I tried.
