Titus the Pit Bull - He's been framed

Titus the Pit Bull - He's been framed - 07/16/08 04:26 PM

I'm volunteering on an adoption campaign and this is a concept.

Either "He's ready to step out into his new world"

or, to go with the bully breed issue - "He's been framed."

I'll have to find / take a happier looking picture I think, but what do you think of the general idea?

Honestly, no. I would rather see something that would be in the line of "he is ready to be part of your family" or "he is ready to live in your home" using a house frame instead of the being framed idea. Anything negative like he is being framed already leaves a bad taste in the mouth about not being wanted.

If I said to you don't think of rabbits, what are you thinking about? Leave the idea in the viewers mind that you want to stay there. Love, hearts, kisses, hugs..... pick some things you would like the new owners to see them doing with the dogs.

You want honest, thats my two cents of honest.

Love what you are doing!!!!!

Thanks Peggysue, I agree on the point of not mentioning things you don't want folks to think about.

I partial to the step into a new world idea, but I'm also working on one that shows him "dreaming" of his new home.

Thanks Anton,
I'll have to check them out.

Jim,
I'm with PeggySue on this one. We try to de-toughen the dogs that are perceived as tough. Our Rottie puppies get collars with flowers on them. No studs or chains even for the boys.

My older dogs get nylon slip collars with red, blue, pink and black/orange. No major chains. When they wear a chain, it's a show collar in gold or silver. Very thin. Very chic.

Of course, I've been known to put a stud collar on a poodle or a Maltese for photos. Sometimes you have to show these breeds off as the major protection dogs they are .

The key to these "dangerous" breeds is to show them as accessible as possible. I don't mean to misrepresent them. If you have a really tough Pit or Rottie, you have to be very careful about whether or where to place them. But the sweet ones need to be portrayed as sweet.

I agree. Our Doberman mix has a bright pink collar with paw-prints on it.

Titus has a special volunteer that takes him for rides in a convertible. I hope to get some good pics of that soon.

Meanwhile, I'll be going back to the drawing board, errr Wacom Tablet on the pics I have.
