New subjects

Though this day wasn't filled with the best conformation shots I have ever done, I did get some nice artsy stuff. This was my first staffy bull and what a cool breed. I know nothing about them though and relied on the owners to stack them for me.




A puppy I just did not do justice to in the stacked shots. She is nice enough she will be a futurity contender next month. Her owner won it last year

Wonderful images, Julie. I really like your shooting angles on these. Did you get a little dirty?

I was actually standing halfway down a hill shooting up. It was the only way to create the illusion of rolling meadows, at the top the cars/rvs would all have been in the background.

For the staffy head shots, I was on the ground. We were done and I saw that and laid down to get those.

There are several very nice images here. As for the Staffy Bull, it's not unusual for them to be pulled out a lot in the rear since they are usually free-baited in the ring. Aren't they a great breed? I really love them and if I ever get a smaller breed, Staffy Bulls are on my short list.

The Whippet pup is very nice. Great job as always.

I really really like their personality. Had a friend had staffies vs whippets when I got back into purebred dogs, that would probably be my breed right now. I just can't have more dogs. The next spot in my house is reserved for a Dottie puppy

And indeed you did. Did you enjoy doing the artsy stuff? Love the terrier breeds and this is no exception. A great deal of power in a small pack.

Having grown up with Airedales, some people were afraid of them. Now the Am Staffs have an image problem with non dog people. Those of us that know them realize the problem but it is difficult to change public image.

I love doing the artsy stuff. Terrier are neat dogs. Tenacious is definitely a word to describe them! The staffy bulls are so little and cute. Really almost soft in temperament. He kept laying down because we were trying to stack him. Then he would roll over and smile.

They said people at the shows are terrified of them. Public sentiment views them like your backyard pits, which, they just aren't.

at shows, I usually shoot dogs either sitting or laying on my belly and the Staffy Bulls that are waiting for their photo usually come over and wash my face and then sit between my legs while I shoot the others. The owners love the fact that I'm not afraid of them but I really love them and most dogs can tell that.

I've never met an aggressive Staffy Bull or a non-social one. Maybe I've been lucky but I've met a ton. They're really great dogs.
