Ed Hardy / Christian Audigier

A couple outtakes from last night.

They're cute enough, but they won't get submitted because I didn't get sufficient DoF for these IMO.

As always, C&C welcome.

Hmmm, then again, maybe not . . .

Hey Jim,

I keep coming back and looking at these two shots. I think that I prefer the first of these two shots as it looks most natural. Did you work on the face of the second dog? The highlights look blown on it. On the other hand, I love the artful way that you worked the tail on the second shot. Very nice.

May I ask what these were for? A private commission?

Hi James,

I didn't work on the face in the second one, but it probably got caught up in the lightening of the background. I've experimenting a bit with NX2 and don't yet have the control points "under control." The "bridge" of his nose does look a bit hot, but it measures no higher than 235, so I should be able to work it back down. Or, better yet reprocess the whole thing.

The guy selling the shirts wants photos of "celebrity dogs" wearing them and since I've been doing all of Andrew & Laurie's photography lately, I got the call.

This was a bit of an experiment for us all and out of about 50 "keepers" in terms of "nice portrait" only a few would be good "product shots" for the shirts.

I just added another light to the kit and my vinyl backdrop came in yesterday, so I may re-shoot some of these.
