Happy October from Sundance

Happy October from Sundance - 10/03/09 03:28 PM

Sundance is embarrassed that he didn't send Happy September wishes but his excuse is that the house was kinda wrapped up in keeping his granddad, Rowdy, comfortable. But he wanted me to send you this belated September greeting for your enjoyment. And, no, he is not auditioning for a gig with The Village People .

For October, Sundance presents his Halloween outfit from last year. As we've always said, it takes a real guy to wear a pink tutu and NOT get laughed at. I assure you, he may get a lot of "awwws" but no laughs.

Which reminds me that it's time to start work on Sundance's 2010 Calendar. Right now, we have no creative concept in mind so if any of you would like to offer suggestions, we'd be delighted. Sundance is unique in that he'll pretty much do anything we ask him to do. And wear anything we ask him to wear. I'm not sure if we want to do another massively Photoshopped calendar of studio shots or something using more natural environments. As I said, we'll consider any and all suggestions.

Enjoy,

Jim

PS keep in mind that $10 from each Calendar sale goes to Rottweiler Rescue so we hope to market these fairly extensively.

How about very seasonal, natural settings?

Gardening, in spring, sledding (or pulling one) in winter, etc etc.

Sledding? In Orlando?? They don't go that well on the beach .

how about a hide and seek theme? I can just see him peeking out from under a small bushel basket or something.... or in disguise in the pumpkin patch?

Robyn,
that's great for October but we need an overall creative direction for all 12 months of the 2011 calendar. Part of the problem is, of course, that if we do natural environments as Jim suggests, we'd have to travel a bit to find snow for those winter-themed months. Even a "pumpkin patch" conjures up a lovely fall theme with changing leaves and in Orlando, our leaves don't leave . I suppose a trip to the Carolina Mountains wouldn't be a difficult thing to endure .

We're thinking natural environments, too, just to give it a different look. Plus, we can add in other animals as well for both fun and interest. We'll work on some concepts and then share them with the forum for feedback.

Thanks for the input,

Jim
