cool ... I haven't pushed my bodies to 12800 but live at 6400 ... guess I should give it a try LOL

no schedule confilicts, what a treat ... I have the 11 day BC nationals next year, still trying to see how many assistants I must have trained

I was thrilled to be able to get out my 200-400 and shoot at f/4 indoors!

I'll be in a dungeon this weekend so it will be back to 200 f/2 or maybe even 85 f/1.4.

Thankfully (I guess) it's Obedience and Rally Obedience so i don't quite need the shutter speeds I do for agility other than the jumps.

A bit like watching paint dry from behind the camera though.

The D3s is the first body that I trust in auto ISO. I set my aperture and shutter and let the ISO adjust as needed.

With the D3, the "odd, in between" ISO settings like 500 were noisier than even 6400 for some reason.

I've still got one D3 body, but I really need to switch it for another D3S. They're pretty much impossible to find at the moment though.

I'm in the running for Aussie nationals this year, but they seem really disorganized.

I think I ticked off the Sheepdog Finals committee by telling them I was unwilling to pay a large fee to be an official photographer, when they openly invite anyone and everyone with a camera to come shoot and sell photos without paying the fee. Silly if you ask me, but they didn't ask. I chose to tell them anyway

Thanks!

11-15 April 2011 give or take a day or two.

They just invited me to stay for the whole week and do portraits on the non-performance days. I was planning on one day of portraits, but it looks like three now.

Congrats Jim. Nice photo. I shoot Canon but I still have lens envy. Can't believe your ISO is that good...did you put it through Noise Ninja or anything?

I almost didn't touch it at all, but decided to do a slight noise reduction in ACR.

Drop me a note if you'd like a link to the raw file.
