Another try to photograph Maybel

Another try to photograph Maybel - 06/08/11 06:33 AM

I was about to ask you all a question, "How to photograph a cat with a lot of gray in the hair?" I don't have an external flash, so I have to go off natural light, but photos of my cat Maybel always make her fur sparkle like a Twilight vampire and the image never looks right. Archibald, however, is really photogenic. I don't feel like I do anything different, but maybe that's the problem.

I did this recently though, it's one of the first that doesn't make her fur sparkle, but I don't remember what/if I did differently. I still haven't quite got an image that shows off her personality well yet.

What's wrong with sparkle? wink

If you want some real "life" in the eyes, get a wand toy to really get her attention. Either a wand with feathers at the end or a toy called "the bird" which is feathers at the end of a string attached to a wand. And practice shooting one handed...

Hey Tyler,

I agree - photographing cats is tough! Having said that, I am a bit confused. Who is this a photo of?
