To be honest, I'd prefer it if the DOF wasn't that shallow. But that's just my taste.

Maybe it's must my eyes after not much sleep lately but the plane of focus appears to be at the shoulder and behind the head. I don't have a problem with shallow DOF but the eye should be the in the area of sharpest focus.

Hi Nazza,

I agree with Jim about the PoF. Having said that, your title of your post is "is my pet photography any good." I don't think it is fair to ask that given this is just one photo you are sharing. I hope to see more!
