Hey Jerry,

Thanks for posting this. I was a bit surprised to see Central Park on this list. It always amazes me what is in my own back yard that I do nt take advantage of.

I was thinking the same thing as John. I am curious as to what criteria they used to determine this.

Cheers
James

Hard to say what criteria they used. Maybe - "I can only think of 12 sites, and here are my favorite 10." (grin)
I just got a copy of a book: The Art of Bird Photography" by Arthur Morris. He lists many sites (none in NY), and one is in NJ: Barnegat Inlet lighthouse and jetty. Birds there - purple sandpiper, ruddy turnstone, harlequin duck, Ipswich sparrow, red-throated and common loons, oldsquaw and red-breasted merganser. I've not been there myself.

I can think of thousands of sites, of the sites listed only central park would have come up on my top 100

Barnegat Inlet is nice as is many of the sites on the Delaware, Maryland, Virginia east shoreline-prime migration stopover points and sites with many summer resident birds
