Hey Guys,

This is directed probably more to the newbies and wannabes having questions about transitioning into vocational photography or just having made the transition and finding things moving slower than expected.

If just found a great book that was published in 2010 and is so current addressing "making a life and a living in photography". "VisionMongers" by David duChemin is a great book for those thinking of making a career change or adding the call to photography to your plate.

I'm fairly new to the forum and if this topic has been covered, then I apologize. Even if it had, it's worth another mention. David duChemin gets you to take stock, take a breath and think through what is an artistic and creative calling and slaps you with a cold hard dose of reality. After having read this book, you'll either come away invigorated or scared poopless. Either way, a great read for the amateur or pro.

Hey Doug,

Thanks for sharing. I think it is very appropriate for the course.

Thanks for the info! I just purchased the book. It would be so much easier for me to be scared poopless...because trying to make it sure is proving to be very difficult. Especially only doing this part time...when there are so many things that need to be done!
