Been away for awhile....

Been away for awhile.... - 01/07/13 12:46 AM

Hate it when life interferes with my photography!

But hopefully I'll be back to getting in shots weekly. Eagles are in and with the new 7D I'm hoping to add video captures to my eagle work.

And I've got a trip to Glacier booked already for late June. Been several years and I can't wait to get back. Planning to do a lot of landscape work with an eye towards huge prints. So lots of telephoto shots merged in photoshop to yield the huge detailed shots. I can't wait!!

Welcome back, James. You have been missed. I look forward to seeing some of the photos. Glacier rocks. You should see if you can stop at Tony's gallery while you are at it. Are you going to be in East or West Glacier?

Well I prefer the lushness of the east side so that's were I spend most of my time. Have reservations in one of the cabins but if I can get the pickup ready I may just camp out of it. I just need to work out reliable and rechargeable DC power so I can run my Cpap machine at night. Dang sleep apnea has killed my camping days, LOL!! Tony has always helped me in the past with info on current conditions so yeah I'll be looking him up.

Can't wait to get up there again!

Cool, James. When I was out there last, I stayed at the Pines Motel...which was coincidentally right across from Tony's gallery.

The last time I was there, I was with Steve Kossack for 5 days, helping to lead a group. I spent another 3 with Tony. I must say that I had an awesome time. Tony was working on his resources project and he even brought me out for an airplane ride which he had previously chartered. I keep threatening to go out there as the experience was so much fun. I would say that I prefer East Glacier to West Glacier...but they offer very different things. Certainly East Glacier is where all the 'big' sunrise opportunities are.
