"No More National Parks" Bill - 02/26/15 07:32 PM

The House of Representatives will meet Tuesday to discuss a Republican-sponsored bill that could drastically curtail the number of new parks created each year. The “Ensuring Public Involvement in the Creation (EPIC) of National Monuments Act,” which is the full name of the bill, was described by the left-leaning Center for American Progress as a “de facto ‘No More National Parks’ policy.”

I do not belive it is just partisan politics. I think there is some deeply held political belief that the state should be allowed to regulate its own borders. Also, given the specific focus on maritime parks, I believe that there differences in opinion about mining (oil/natural gas) impacts on the environment. However, I do no agree with it, and I hope everyone makes some noise about this.
