1 & 2 Star National Park Yelp Reviews - 08/30/15 03:47 PM

You have to read this. It is both hysterical and really scary at the same time. Of course, it is bottom feeding a bit...but definitely worth reading.

James:

It is really sad how some people simply can't just enjoy life . . . . although I do frequently share the frustration of the person who was unable to get the shot he wanted of Delicate Arch because his fellow tourists were too inconsiderate as to not let him have a turn.

Hey Jim,

Glad to see you around! Yes, I hear that. However, on the other end of it, folks get up really - really - early in order to get position at the arch. There is very limited 'seating' if you will, and it is a pack race to get position. I would like to make another stab at Delicate Arch. Not this year or next year though....the world is a beautiful place and it is sad that we can only see a slice of it each year. frown

Yes, the world is a beautiful place and I have been truly blessed to have had the opportunity to have seen a great many of its most wonderful spots.

I'm not frustrated by the folks who get up at 0'Dark thirty to stake out just the right spot and beat me to the best location. The ones that get my goat are the ones who, after I did get there early and, if necessary patiently waited my turn, just got there but are selfish enough to step in front of me just as I am about to click the shutter and then spend the next thirty minutes standing in my frame taking selfies that don't even show the attraction.

Which reminds me of the old joke . . . What's the difference between a world traveler and a tourist ?

A. A world traveler is someone who gathers his photo equipment and travels to far off exotic locations to see and photograph the interesting and beautiful sights he finds there.

A tourist is someone who will grab his cell phone, travel hundreds of miles to interesting and beautiful locations, attach his cell phone to a selfie stick, and take a picture of himself standing next to his car in the parking lot.
