Calling all herpetologists.

I'm sure like me, many of you have noticed the bias here in posting images primarily of the warm blooded species (LOL). It's true that they can be warm and fuzzy and majestically beautiful, but what about all those cold blooded wild creatures. Don't they deserve a showing?

I have to admit that I am as guilty as the next guy and in an effort to repent, this post is meant to rally all of you with images of herpetological subjects to show them now.

I'll start...

Here are som bull frogs in the local pond

More amphibians from the Amazon basin. The Poison Dart fron on the left is carrying tadpoles on his back.

Reptiles from the Amazon

A Lava Lizard and Iguana skeleton from the Galapagos

More reptiles

A Galapagos tortoise at Darwin station and a turtle in the local pond.

Sarah,

Thanks for the positive feedback. Any images of cold blooded critters to share?

Great shots!!! I don't have any cold blooded creatures...and I don't seem to see any politicians around...OK..that was a low blow, and perhaps too easy

James,

Thanks for the positive feedback. Good point about politicians but I was really after cold blooded physiology not temperment.

LOL. The shot that I particularly like is the photo of the skeleton against the rock. Very cool composition. The frog shots are also very nice.

Here is a beastly snapper I found while walking around the lake one evening.

Andrew,

Great shot of the snapper. I've seen some really big snappers and I once saw one bite through a broom handle. Certainly wouldn't want one snipping at my toes.
