Bosque del Apache - 01/11/08 04:23 AM

Just got back from a couple of days at one of this country's finest wildlife refuge locations just south of Socorro, NM.

The web gallery I created in Lightroom can be found at:

This is one of the few places in the world where my wife will get up before dawn to go somewhere. The Snow Geese fly-out of thousands of birds is truly spectacular.

Hey David,

Thanks for sharing your work. First, if I misname any of the birds, please feel free to correct me. I am bird stupid. There are some very nice photos in there. A few, I believe, really stand out. The first shot I like is file #1174 (I believe the first digits were the month and year, yes?) of the two swans (geese?) coming in for landing. Very beautiful.

1355, of the Egret (or heron?) in flight, silhouetted, is quite beautiful.

1477 of the geese with the mountains in background at sunrise just rocks.

1114 is also really very nice. I love watching birds flock like this. 2008, 1105 and 2244 do the same thing for me.

James

PS Glad to see you through some nice landscapes in there as well.
