Thick-billed Vireo

Thick-billed Vireo - 05/03/08 01:12 AM

This is my first post here, but I have been hanging around for a while.

I think this is a Thick-billed Vireo. I shot this in March on Little San Salvador Island, in the Bahamas, so it could be in migration. I know I was migrating.

Nice shots, I love little birds.

What lens did you use to capture this?

Thanks

Jim,

Thanks for your kind comments. I shot this with a Nikon 80-400mm, VR, mounted on a D300.

Welcome Bill, nice of you to join us by posting some lovely images. Do you have a favorite from these three?

Thanks Peggy Sue, I don't think I have a strong favorite, but might lean toward the middle one.

Hey Bill,

Welcome aboard...and great shots. Curiously, how much does an 80-400 VR cost?

Cheers
James

James,

I paid $1165 in St. Maarten but it sells between $1400 and $1700 here in the USA. I like it a lot.
