Made a quick trip down there for New years and got a few whoopers, Mid day lighting but I thought they were ok for a first trip just to figure things out.

Not planning on going back anytime soon but may next winter. the in laws winter down there so we may go see them again.
it basically outside Corpus Cristy Texas. the boat leaves out of Rockport http://www.fws.gov/southwest/REFUGES/texas/aransas/

I used to live just up the road from the refuge (in Port Lavaca)

You can get some stunning sunrise pictures here overlooking the bay. From the tower.
