Thanks for sharing. I have never heard of the Trempealeau NW Refuge before. I just checked out the FWS website. Pretty cool.

Of the batch, my favorite is the snake. I am going to ask what may be a stupid question. Is that a poisonous snake? Cool capture.

Thanks James,

I haven't been to this refuge in a long time. At least 10 years! There has been a lot of improvements during that time. The observation deck is awesome and the rest of the refuge is well maintained. Volunteers play a huge part of maintaining the refuge.

Your snake question answer: I don't know. I saw the snake swimming in the water and assumed it was a water/grass snake :>)
Maybe a more knowledgeable member can answer.

The Sandhill crane is beautiful. I didn't realize they were so colorful.
