Few from today in Oregon's Columbia Gorge

Few from today in Oregon's Columbia Gorge - 04/19/06 12:38 AM

Trying to maximize my spring time shooting this week before work starts next week. Spent a few hours in the Gorge today and the fog and light was pretty cool....helped create views that isolate details and provide a different perspective on a commonly photographed place. Hope you like!!! Most are very little if no PP except sharpening.

This is part of the east side of Crown Point in the gorge....saw the fog isolating this point on the ridge which would otherwise be blended into a like background as the ridge rises higher than this point behind it.

I have many shots of Wahkeena Falls in my gallery, but my goal today was different compositions than I normally shoot. Used a longer lens to compress this section of the falls.

This shot was keeping in the new perspectives theme....Multnomah Falls is one of the absolutely more photographed falls in the world...so finding newer perspectives is often a challenge. Tried this one out for size finding the trees paralleling the falls as fog spilled over the hill works as unique.

Moved the camera into horizontal perspective to try and get a little more of the surrounding area....yet keeping with the theme of the other shot.....was pleased that after blending to differently processed shots of the same RAW file I was able to maintain the fog on the left hand side softly dissipating.

Hope you all like....tomorrow I visit the Japanese Gardens

I like the angle of Misty Multnomah Perspective and Sun Burning Through it. They both have a very soft and dreamy feel to them.

Hey Roman,

Awesome work! The first one is by far my favorite. I agree with Lou. It has a very dreamy feel to it. I like the way the light breaking through the cloud cover.

Excellent work, I find them captivating. I too like the first one a lot. Almost look like there was a castle that mother nature took over.

The first one is a winner in my book. Great use of negative space! Other shots are excellent too.

Your CRG photos make me want to go back to Oregon

Outstanding images, Roman! Each is excellent but like the others said, that first one is special!

Thanks everyone!!

Kinda strange...the first really had a lot of appeal to me when I got it home to look at it. Most forums pass over it for the waterfalls eye candy, but the people in this fourm seem to see the same as I do in the first shot.

Misha...common out.....and let us know if you do....would be happy to meet up with you in some interesting areas.

That goes for the rest of you guys too!!!
