Cool shot Glenn! I really like the perspective in this shot. What is an Oystercatcher? Is it like a gull?

It is not a gull but a shorebird. I guess they would fit the same guild as sandpipers and plovers.

The oystercatchers are a group of waders. They form the family Haematopodidae, which has a single genus, Haematopus.

On the picture it is a Black Oystercatcher (Haematopus bachmani)
