This was a fun one that I took in the Lake region of Yellowstone. The bison were marching around the cabins - I think the only thing from preventing them from going into them was their massive size.

Bison in traffic - 10/09/10 04:16 PM

That's one of the great things about Yellowstone. The animals rule. I think this may be your scofflaw fella with a friend stuck in traffic in the Hayden Valley.

LOL, he sure does get around. One of the things that is agitating is watching the folks try to 'herd' the bison with their cars.

Did you ever hear the park rangers talk about the size of the Bison in Yellowstone? According to the last talk I heard, the Bison in Yellowstone are about one third smaller than most other Bison because of the malnutrition that results during the winter months. The grasses they eat all winter have little nutrition and if the herds could migrate south they would as they would be able to find better foraging. Still, the Bison are impressive.
