I found this pheasant along an old farming road near Helena, Montana last week.

Hey Karl,

As usual, beautiful work. The pheasant is so rich and saturated. Almost juicy and delicious looking! If I wasn't a vegetarian..................

Beautiful image there. Love the DOF! Looks like almost a 90 degree lighting, nice detail!

nice looking bird. . . I would like to offer one thought, it looks to me like either your focus was off our you have a front front focus issue. As you know DOF is about 2/3 rds behind the subject. In your shot it's mostly in front, which means you have a front focus issue or you caught some of the straw and managed to get the bird within the DOF.

I'm not putting down your shot. I'm pointing out an issue that you might check into. . . If your front focusing you should be able to fix that, if you missed your target then, well, you know what to do about that . . .

Cheers and thanks for posting . . .
