High Alpine Hikes.... Utah

High Alpine Hikes.... Utah - 07/11/11 03:46 AM

A few from the Wasatch Front. These taken in the last two weeks, we have 5 feet of snow still in the upper mountains. Makes for some great runoff. It was a record snow year here. Everything green green now.

Hey Marty,

How is your snow pack compared to typical times of the year? I hear you guys got pounded out West.

Thanks for sharing the photos. I think the 1st lead-off is my favorite.

Beautiful photographs. I like how the trail leads your eyes to the background mountains in the second photo. I also love the soft water in the 4th, nice work!

Thank's Guys-
The snowpack, July 19, is as you see mostly gone. High altitude
patches, a few remaining slide paths. Compared to normal? These places pictured, unaccessible 9 months of the year without skiing in...

These shots mostly with lighter 'quip. Trying to get by with a lighter pack, lately I am thinking, to carry the heavier gearbag next, not really as happy these shots as I could be. Tossing way more shots then I would be, with a heavier gear bag.

Nice set of images, Marty..
Its so hard to say which one is my favorite of the set, but its between the road leading to the mountain, and the first waterfall image...beautiful!
