Laying Down Bull Elk

Laying Down Bull Elk - 01/04/12 04:01 AM

YIPEEEEEEE - The best day I ever had shooting bull elk laying down. The elk were in a little draw with a big ridge on each side and there was enough of a breeze coming down the draw it covered my shutter noise, they were not going to leave the draw because of heavy wind and gusts at 50 mph plus out in the open areas.

They look pretty relaxed. It looks like you were using might have been using I right on that? Is this a habituated heard? Or, were you just well hidden?

They are not people friendly. The set up was the same as I would of used if I was guiding a archery hunter. Well hidden, down wind & using a very soft calf call.
