Wapiti - Bulls (Elk)

Wapiti - Bulls (Elk) - 12/22/14 04:33 AM

These shots were 3 days in the making. First day I found them with my spotting scope, second day closer to the area with my binoculars and the third day close enough for some long shots with the 500. They are working their way down the ridge to a small meadow for dinner. They won't reach the small meadow until after dark. Very few open areas on the way down the ridge so I used my HoochieMama call to get them to stop.

Nice! I love seeing the elk in the snow with their full racks. I have some shots from late-Feb/early March a few years back that I still cherish.

Thanks for sharing.

Just finding them is exciting for me and any photos are a bonus.
