I shot this at the Viera Wetlands. There were 2 of us shooting and we thought at first that the Heron had a snake in his mouth. It was only when we got home and looked closer that we saw that the thing in his mouth had a little hand sticking out (you can see it in the second picture). A little research showed it to be a Lesser Siren Salamander. Enjoy.

Hi EB,

This is a cool series of shots. It is pretty cool that you were able to figure out what type of creature the Heron was eating. I had thought it was a snake upon first glance as well.
