Hey Everyone,

My wife and I were at a friends the other night and we watched 2 parts of the Planet Earth series. If you have not been watching this - you need to. It has absolutely amazing footage of amazing natural creatures and phenominoms.

I agree James, my wife and I have watched the last two weeks and are simply amazed at the footage.

my wife & i ordered the HD dvd series w/ the original narrator (forget his name). only problem is, it doesn't ship until 4/24 (tomorrow). we are really looking forward to watching it. i don't particularly care for some of the allusions they make to evolution, but the photography/filming is absolutely stunning. & from what i have seen of it so far on TV, it is an awesome way to enjoy & appreciate & 'experience' much of the world i would never otherwise get to do.

i know it will be worth every penny we spent on it & looking forward to getting it in the mail.

I will be buying the series.....Have already posted several posts in several chat rooms about using such examples to help with photography. Video has always been a great help in understanding composition....because they HAVE to get it right....no cropping after the fact....its on...or its in the trash bin.

I hate to admit this, but I didn't watch it because I figured it would be all touchy feely over the top liberal sort of narration. I have been sick as a dog and just couldn't think of listening to that kind of stuff on top of it

I wish I would have now, as the videography does look stunning

Since Earth Day is my birthday, I put in a request for this set. It too is on its way and I am looking forward to the narration by David Attenbough ( sp. ?) I did spend Sunday glued to the screen since it was more beautiful than I had hoped.
The Weaver narration was wonderful and film work was stuff dreams are made of.
I am so grateful there are people who will go into caves, climb areas of extreme danger and suffer the cold only so I can sit in the comfort of my own home to see our planet. Thanks so very much to those terrific photographers.

There is going to be a series called Saving Planet Earth in the near future.
The Tiger one will be presented by Fiona Bruce. I was there while they were filming. She was very uneasy while in the presence of the tigers. You should look out for them.
