Taken in my backyard (Pennsylvania). I am not sure, but think it might be a juvenile goldfinch?



then again, maybe a song sparrow?

It looks like it may be a juvenile house or purple finch (not a goldfinch)

Definitely a female house finch. The give away is the lack of a distinct ear patch as seen in Casini's(also this finch is mostly Western) or Purple Finch. Gold finches are still slightly golden even in winter.
Here's a Song Sparrow. Notice the pink feet.

Thanks everyone for your reply. I have a bird ID book, but you know how that goes..LOL. I still have a hard time with the sparrows and finches.
