Was out this morning at sunrise getting a few shots at the local pond with the new lens (Nikon 70-200 2.8)

A few swans about posing for a shot or 2

Hey Jim,

The first shot is really quite beautiful. Great light - warm yet soft. The second shot has a beautiful, almost demure pose. I wish that the eyes were not getting lost though.

Cheers
James

Hi James

The light was quite warm from the early sun so I tried and neutralize it a little, although there is a lot of brownish color in the feathers (maybe from nest making?). I brightened the eye up a bit, any more and it does not look natural. it's tough though as they are close to black.

Thanks for the input! here is an updated version.

They are a beautiful subject, these swans. The complete contrast in markings makes a challenge. I was shooting all day today, a 6 mile hike, spring flowers, everything all day. These two wound up my favorite shots from them all. Amazing coincidence to see this post.
