I had the opportunity to hook up with the co-breeders of my last litter so I could see the 8 week old puppies. They wanted some semi-cheesecake shots and conformational shots of the puppies to show to potential buyers. All they had up to that time were P&S shots and not good ones at that. I was happy to oblige.

This is the mother, Lexi. She is 2 1/2 years old and I bred her. There was some discussion on a previous threads about how different breeds are shot differently. In my opinion, this is the quintessinal Great Dane shot. A 3/4 shot like this shows off the beautiful head, long arched neck and very nice front end on this bitch. Great Dane breeders go ape for this type of shot. There is a little pp done, but I'm going to surprise the owner with a portrait without the leash and parking lot lines.

We did some shots to show off the front ends of the puppies.

And the heads of the puppies.

Can't say I like the finger in this one, but it is a darling shot of the boy.

And one of the girls

We had beautiful late afternoon light and the co-owners were ecstatic with the shots.

Hey Julie,

Thanks for sharing. They are all nice, but the second shot takes the cake!!

James

PS A small nit pick. You might want to try burning the hand a bit around the collar in PS to tone it down a bit.

Thanks, James. I don't really know how we got the boy to stand all by himself in #2. Just a sliver in time that I was able to capture.

I wasn't too concerned about the extraneous stuff in the shots. Mostly the shots are to show potential puppy people their heads and bodies.
