I showed Dottie last weekend, hung around until after groups to do a handler's dog for their owner. Sunday after the show, I headed to Nashville for a photography seminar that lasted through Wednesday. Came home and have done my favorite equine clients, a family with a saint and whippet, and a family with no dogs. I also dropped Dot off with her handler and she won another 2 points today! Just 3 more to go!!!
Here are some from this week. At least of the handler's dogs and the Saint/whippet. This baby had an ear infection which mom did not know. No wonder he screamed the whole time and worse when I blew my whistles. YOUCH
Outstanding! wonderful job julie! You're doing just what you planned to do, tell us how you feel, i'm interested in your thoughts on your progress over the course of a couple years of hard work, youre really doing terrific!
I still feel like I have a ways to go. I want to improve on my studio lighting until it is second nature to me. I want to improve on how I deal with off camera flash in the field.
I am busy, my phone is ringing, I am charging a living wage and all that feels good. I stress much more worrying that I won't deliver the goods up to people's expectations. I think that is the perfectionist in me.
It has been a huge learning curve in the last few years. Being very OCD has help speed it along. I don't get much else done though!
The shot with the fountain in the back stands out in this round of very nice work. The natural light with what looks like PERFECT fill really looks awesome.
Julie, Your photos are top notch! What did you use for a backdrop for your first few photos of kids and dogs? It is a perfect color and I like the fact that it is all one piece from top to bottom. Once again, excellent work.
That backdrop is "Tuscan Sun" from Silverlake. AWESOME backdrops. I overuse this one because it is so all purpose. It is a very heavy weight muslin. It feels right between the weight of a muslin and a canvas. Very stiff. Doesn't wrinkle if hung.
Julie, I agree with Roman, the fountain shot is very special. They're all excellent but that one has the type of lighting we all wish we could get just once.
