We are going to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary by going to Alaska. Our cruise ship leaves Vancouver Aug 28th
and we get to Seward the 4th of Sept and have a week on our own. I'm thinking we will drive around to Soldotna and Homer and then work back to Anchorage to fly home. would be interested to here from anyone on what to see, my main photo goals are eagles and would love to see bears and maybe puffins any wildlife would be great, but the flyins probably have to wait for another trip. any tips for photography or lodging greatly appreciated.

The drive from Seward to Anchorage is 127 miles, but can take up to 8 hours because of all the photo ops. Homer & Seward is very photogenic. While in Seward, be sure to drive out to Exit Glacier, go out on a tour boat and see Kenai Fjords National Park and maybe the 26 glacier tour. These trips will get you to see puffins. Eagles are as common here as blackbirds are there. Cooper Landing is also very photogenic. You are welcome to give me a call 907-262-5642. I live in Soldotna.

For the Kenai Fjords tour, I recommend Renown Tours.
