This is a sunset over Lake Michigan a couple of weeks ago, I love the sky colors and low clouds of fall. We've had such a cloudy rainy Oct., that the chances of getting a good sunset have been few. This particular sunset was spectacular and I was fortunate to get it.

spectacular colors. How did you shoot these? They have a film-like intensity that is unusual.

I've been using a Tiffen circular poloarizer filter on my 17/70 & Nikon, I usually shoot in "A" mode and choose the F stop. pp for sharpness and contrast (normally I reduce it)add a touch of yellow as Nikon needs a tindge and that's about it.

That was a spectacular sunset Nolad. I particularly enjoy the first with the sailboat silhouette.

Both of these have what a good sunset shot needs - an interesting foreground.

I'd like to see the sailboat a bit closer to the bottom left corner, but I don't think I'd be willing to crop away any of that dramatic sky to achieve that.
