Found an active den this weekend with atleast 6 kits. Actually appears to be two litters judging from the size but I'm not sure. There are at least 3 den sites withing a 100 yard area and the kits seem to intermingle so maybe's it's just one litter. I did see two adults there this morning.
They seem pretty skittish but as long as I stay quiet and still I can work them pretty well. Evening put the wind in my face so without them smelling me they were more at ease.
Great shots, Jim, and fox kits are such fun to watch. Makes me yearn for when the area around our house was pretty much undeveloped back in 1989. We had several fox dens on the 5 acre open tract behind our house and I'd walk the dogs (two Goldens then) around the periphery and see kits every now and then. We stayed clear and I never brought my camera out because I didn't want to spook mom. Now, all we have are houses back there. Sigh. Such is "progress". Nice images!
