These is a shot of an adorable pit that I photographed. I loved the pattern on her side.

She is really a beautiful girl, James, and you've captured a very nice portrait of her. I am constantly amazed at how many people are afraid of this breed. I've met hundreds and I think they are really beautiful dogs with strong but loving dispositions. In general. Keeping in mind that the breed was developed to fight other dogs. Unlike other breeds that were developed to do other things like German Shepherds, Rottweilers, Dobermans etc. Still, I've never met a Pit I didn't fall in love with.

They are one of my favorite breeds to photograph. They are usually calm and easy to deal with. She is very pretty

Pretty girl! I've done a few rescue pits and they have all been super sweet.

On of my very first rescue portraits was of a pit named Basil. All these years later and he is still in the system.

She's a cutie! I bet she's a real character in person. She has a bit of a 'who me?' look about her.

Thanks Guys,

I was definitely going for 'soft' with this series. Pits have such a reputation for being real killers - and it is unfair. I have known some really adorable pits - I have also seen some that I would rather not cross, but that is the stereo type that seems so prevalent with the breed. Lots of people here in NY have Pits. They are very popular rescues.

James
