Thanks for sharing, Nolad. Mammoth always gets short changed for me, as I mentioned earlier...and it is not fair. The problem is just how far it is from where I am typically staying. I would really like to do a couple of sunrise/sunsets there.

The last time I stayed in Mammoth, we heard wolves and wild cat - though we did not see them at all. The cat sounded like it was REALLY close - but distances are deceptive, I guess.

While staying at Yellowstone Lake Lodge we saw a grey fox and we heard the coyotes calling after sunset.
