Kinda like how this one turned out. When shooting with a cell phone, one needs to get REALLY CLOSE, lol. That can be very challenging! One tremor in your finger and you've lost your subject in a sea of confusion.

Doesn't mean necessarily that he went anywhere, it's just sometimes impossible to find him again in the viewfinder. Especially since the lens is not centered but off to one side and up. Just not very intuitive.

Then again, sometimes they just dash away, even upon simply hearing the 'shutter'.

I can entertain myself all day on a cell-phone bug-hunt.

I don't know my bugs very well, I suspect he's rather common., but they're still fun to shoot.

Does anyone here know which one he is?

(Taken with Samsung Galaxy.)

Hey Cathy,

I hope you don't mind my photoshopping your bug at all, but this is what I was able to do with it:

I think I was able to save some of the highlights.

COOL, James, thanks! I see a definite difference. Much better.

I might try playing with the raw file some again and see if I can learn to preserve highlights in the washout areas better - I need to get more skills in post-processing, as you've been able to do.

BTW It's some kind of stinkbug - I haven't tried to handle him, though, to confirm -

:- O
