Got a double whammy with this one - male and a female!

This was taken near Yarram in Melbourne, Australia

Nice capture, Nat.

At first I thought the more greeny ones were a different species but they are actually the juveniles
of the species (whereas both male and female adults of the species are crimson).

Do you know the Crimson Rosellas in Adelaide/SA are actually more orangey-red and the ones along the Murray are yellow? Just some added info ;-)

Hey Tess,

Well done. Silly question, what aperture were you shooting at?

James

Nice shots-interesting subject- interesting bokeh there-

Excellent website. Did you set it up yourself using css code? I would like to have mine looking that good.

Have a great New Year, and greetings from Salt Lake City, Utah USA

James - 5.6 at 300mm. I blurred it a tiny bit more in photoshop so it looked a bit smoother

Marty - it's actually a smugmug site edited. If you have a pro account with smugmug you can change a lot of things. Takes a bit to set up but the help forum is very very patient and easy to search.

Hey Tess,

Thanks very much. I was wondering if the blur was natural or not. Did you selectively blur, or did you apply over the whole image?

James

Selectively blurred, I just used the magic wand and kept adding selections and then cleaned it up with a mask I think I put the gaussian blur on about 2 or 3.
