Hey Everyone,

We just published part 1 of John Isaac's interview. Part I is a biography about John and his photographic journey from very humble beginnings in 1968 until today.

Parts II and III will be published very soon. Part II focuses on John's professional work and relationships. The last section is about environmental issues.

John has been kind enough to share some images from his new E-3 throughout the article.

James, thanks for posting this very nice interview. I can sense the love John has for his world and see it in his work.

John, I can understand your wanting to give up photography, but understand that at least I appreciate all the work that shows us at our worst as well as our best.

It is so easy to sluff off the horrors that still happen in our world, and we need to document such things so we don't become numb to things that never touch our immediate world.

To go into such an arena and record such things (to me) is very tough and very respectable. We need checks and balances people like you give us in our comfy lives.

With such things behind you now, I hope your love of your world continues to shine through in your work...and thank you kindly for your perspective that is so nicely portrayed in your photography...it is much appreciated.

Welp, the end of the series is now up. I hope that everyone has found this article to be inspirational and informative. It has been one of my more favorite interviews that I have had the opportunity to do.

Hello James,

I'm a new member of this forum and I would like to thank you for posting that interview.

As a new photographer who started learning only in 2006 (and losing my way a little bit out of frustration), it was very inspirational in many ways for me. It was also especially encouraging to see that John Isaac's work was shot using Olympus cameras.

Thanks again, to you and to John Isaac.

Hi Paula,

Thank you very much for the kind message. FYI, John is now heading off to India where he will be for a couple of weeks on an assignment. We are discussing his writing a story about this trip when he comes back.

James
