I've enjoyed reading this forum for about a year now and have decided to stop by and say hello!
I also want to personally thank Jim Garvie .....Last year I had the opportunity to visit Marco Island Florida and I had emailed him asking if he knew any good birding places. He was nice enough to take the time to email me a bunch of links to wonderful places....and I might add we got to see most of them and had a fantastic time.

I would love to be able to post some photos for you to see but I don't have a website. Is there an easy to use photo hosting site that anyone can recommend?
I am fairly new at photography, just started a year ago. I am currently using a Canon XTI with a Canon 100-400mm lens. This is my first digital camera and have had a lot of fun with it. Now looking at the Canon 40D. Needless to say I am hooked, I spend my days walking thru parks looking for wildlife....tad cold right now in NorthEast Ohio!

there are a few but I find pbase fairly easy to use and fairly inexpensive. I use it for informal online proofing by sending an email link to the volume containing relevant images.

Plus, it lets me upload images I want to share on forums like this.

Hi Connie. Where in NE Ohio are you located. I am in Richmond Heights and I go to the North Chagrin Reservation in Willoughby Hills quite often. Am leaving on a birding trip to FL for 9 days at the end of the month and hope to get some good images. Some of my bird photos are on www.pbase.com/vciinc

I live east of Chardon. I also go to North Chagrin quite a bit. In fact, I was there three times last week and again today. Do you know Roz and Koren? I normally meet them up there.
Our vacation to Florida last year was wonderful. We have a friend that has a home on Marco Island and we stayed there for two weeks. We are hoping to go again in May and then back again in Sept if all goes well. Ding Darling was an amazing place. I'm sure you will have a good time in Florida, birding should be great and getting away from this terrible Ohio weather is a plus... I took a look at your photos....very very nice!

Maybe i'll run into you at the North Chagrin sometimes later in the spring. I go to FL every year, in fact I was in the Keys last year for 7 months. It's a great place to be in the winter. No I don't know Roz or Koren by name, but maybe I'll know them by face.
