Yeah.The hardest part of nature/bird photography is getting not only the subject to cooperate but a pleasant background also. White-breasted and Red-breasted Nuthatches are very common in New York State. However they are usually high up on a tree running straight up the trunk.They also come to bird feeders if you have suet out. Next time you are in the woods up there just keep an eye out and you will see one.Brown-headed ones are less common(this one is a brown-headed one).
Great photo's, I seen some of these at my daughters place in Fredrickburg, VA. But did not have my camera. I love that first one like James said the pine cone really makes that one special
