Thanks for the good thoughts, I am sorry to be so off topic here but have been desperate to find out some answers. We did go to the other neurologist and he feels she may not have syringomyelia based only on her symptoms and history (he would need to see an MRI which we have not done) although he can't rule it out. He feels it may be that she has a herniating disc after all, that could have pinched off the spinal cord and caused the dilation. I am not sure why then the myelogram did not pick up on the bad disc if there is one but he says it could have missed it.
So I have no idea what to think at this point, bad discs are not good but way better than if it was not the syringomyelia, I guess there can be no clear answers without the MRI (and maybe not even then from what I'm learning). She is feeling better at this point although has a long way to go to be normal for her, which concerns me as I'd think by now she would be if she was going to be. But I'll take what we have! She's basically comfortable, I just really miss my happy, skippy fun loving little Hallie girl. But we're not giving up yet.
Since she is feeling OK we decided not to put her through an MRI at this point. If she has another episode we'll do it at that time. So we're in the wait and see stage which is always a challenge for me. She is to be confined for another 4 weeks at least as well.
Amazing how you can spend thousands of $$ and get two totally different diagnosis and no answer in the end!
Thanks again for your input and again sorry to be off topic.
