Are we getting to saturation on Death Valley yet?

Well this is only my second trip in 20 years so I wouldn't say I'm a frequent flier there. This is another moonset because again, how often do you just hit a place when you have the full moon setting and the sun rising. Also I got up at 4am to drive out to Zabriskie, so I need a little compensation.

George,
lovely capture. Well worth the effort. How real is that color? Regardless, it's a great image.

LOL, George, I am certainly not at all saturated of Death Valley. I had initially planned on going to DV the week prior exactly for the full moon phase. However, the trip to Cambria and Monterey was with my brother and his family, and we wanted to be able to go at the same time.

Very beautiful shot.

Cheers
James

I like the colors of this one, never been there but guessing this is looking to the nw, compared it to your morning shot, the sun should be coming up to your back. DAve

Thanks for the feedback Jim. Really no telling about how real the color is. This is a 30" exposure at f7.1 at ISO200. That means to the eye it was practically dark and of course the sensor was really challenged as far as WB goes. The only light came from the moon and some very very dim dawn light. No telling what spectrum of light was actually hitting the subject. Since I really couldn' see anything in real time I can't really tell you what the real colors were.

What I was interested in was whether or not it was the color out of the sensor which it is. Awesome! I really like it.
