I arrived early and got there in time for an amazing sunrise:


Ater a while...the light was strong to my back and saw this composition with the farmhouse and the tulips glowing in front of a nice dark morning sky.


My origonal intent was to capture snow with the tulips. It was in the forecast and I was hoping the universe would cooperate with me....well...for 3 min it did.


It was a magical morning in the tulip fields all by myself.

Very nice Roman, always nice to see your work.

I have yet to get out to Oregon. I might be bringing the family out this summer. I have been to the west coast of Canada as my sister lives on Vancouver Island.

We do have the Royal Botanical Gardens here in Ontario which I plan on checking out very soon.

I enjoy your tulip festival shots, both the ones you posted last year and these this year. I really like the sunrise shot here; the colors and composition are outstanding. Sometimes it pays to get up early!

Nice shots roman, when we going to see a book?

I really like the first shot too. I think however that the area in the center right - the trees and particularly the area toward the far right where the field meets the trees and the trees meet the sky is too dark. It's looks dodged.

It's a great shot Roman, but could you give us a brief description of how you constructed that first image.

Dave.....it ALWAYS pays to get up early. I get up every morning at 4:00 for work or....photographic work.

Tony, Yeah....what YOU said...lol. I used a ND filter to do this....but ended up needing some blending as well...both techniques worked quite well together.

Very impressive shooting. It is not easy to frame this type of composition, I have tried it. These will make great models , I like the view diagnaly across the field in the sunrise, really a great shot, depth of field right on.
