It was awful but we managed to get the woman away from the vicious pack of blood-thirsty Rotties. Here's a picture I was able to capture before I threw myself into the battle.

In related news, a young dog had an unfortunate accident while practicing his Agility runs this morning. Fortunately, he was extricated without any major trauma.

And the puppies have started to eat from the large ring-bowl and are doing very well. Here's a recent meal.

Unfortunately, they don't have a lot of focus and will fall asleep even while they're eating. What a crew!

The puppies are exactly 4 weeks old today and are just about weaned. Cassidy is still getting in one partial feeding to keep her comfortable but that will get eliminated in a day or so.

Next milestone will be to explore outside the house. I'll work on the "play" area tomorrow in preparation to getting them out probably this weekend. Great crew.

LOL, fortunately mr red was able to get a designer immobilizer that matched his collar! Oh, falling asleep in your food isn't necessarily a lack of focus, sometimes we're just plain tired.........

Each week is better and better. Like a cliff hanger on a weekly series, we look forward to the next viewing.

Barely! Melanie is the daughter of our friend Jane who is a veterinarian and both of them helped deliver the pups. Both are amazed at how people-oriented this litter is -- usually pups don't start to really relate to people until they are 5 weeks old. But this crew really loves to be held.

Last night, after the last feeding, Linda and I sat in the box with the puppies while they all fell asleep in our laps. Each puppy touching one of us. And we just talked for about an hour. It was one of the most relaxing times we've had lately.

On the other hand, this morning was a mad dash to clean up after a classic "poop event" but, hey, that's the joy of puppies.

More photos to come. They are getting very cute!!
