Tony, I am having a hard time staying in this image without being confused. I have a difficult time with the water and land convergence. With the mountains so sharp, the eye is drawn to them. When I drop down to the foreground, the stuff in the water is an irritant. In this instance maybe the color would work better. Care to post that?
Sorry, you asked for honest and from me, honesty is what you get. You know how much I really like your work.

Thanks, no need to say your sorry about telling me what you think. Mostly when I post here for comments I post things that confuse ME, I dont post images that I particularly think are my best or that I like the most, I post things that cause me to want to ask what others think. So if i'm confused I often need to know or want to know what others think, you cant really hurt my feelings, and while I have an attachment to my own images, I'm not wed to them, trust me. . .

here's the color image. . .

Great, that is exactly how I feel about critiques.

Being passionate about B&W I am liking the color one of this image better. The mountains and sky are wonderful in the B&W, but the water still bothers me. I think it is because the weeds stop the eye from the wonderful horizontal flow of the water.

Tony,

I'm with Peggysue on this one. The sky and the mountains are great in BW, but the foreground and lake are a jumble. The reflection of the mountains just gets lost. I have to say that I like the color one better because the different colors better delineate the axis of reflection.

After looking at it for a while I thought that maybe if you darkened the foreground strip of land so that it made the axis of reflection clearer, it might help. So I tried it with your web pic and posted it below. I also lightened up the reflection a little to increase the reflection symmetry. I can't say that my version really works, but it works better for me.

Well here goes lol
I think the grass should be saturated a little more to make a better definition between the mountains and the water. Also its just my opinion but I think your name is much to demanding , but maybe you only do that on your post here it just seems to cause my eyes to keep wandering back and forth , maybe that is what you want.

I am looking at this.....and it is just hitting me all wrong. All the elements are there....but the composition is all kattywampus to me. It just dosnt flow right for me.....so while all the other elements are there for me. The OCD part of me really cant get past the composition.
