Hey Everyone,

It has been a bit nuts recently. I am only now starting to look at files from the trip. This is one of the Midway Geyser Basin. It was taken in relatively harsh light, but fortunately, I had nice cloud cover for bits.

It was taken with an Olympus E-520 dSLR that they had sent me out on the trip for. BTW, if it is too large, I can resize it down... As I look at the image, I like it...but I am not 100% sure it works. Thoughts?

OK Guys,

A lot of reads so far...no comments. Let me say if no one else will... Too busy??? No isolated elements? Too much going on?? :P

Hi James!

Being a neophyte, when I see a shot by someone more skilled than I, but which does not strike my fancy, I tend to not respond and leave the constructive criticism to those more qualified to offer it.

That said, and only because you asked ... Yes, all of the above.

BTW, Oly E-520??

James,,, I like the reflection part of this photo, don't care for the upper portion though, can't really come up with a reason, If it was mine,, would crop it just below the steam line. DAve

I agree: the refelction makes a good abstract if it is isolated.

Thanks Guys,

This was exactly the type of info I was looking for. :P I knew the image was busy, but somehow I liked it. The trick is I am not 100% sure if it would work as a pure reflection shot either.

James,

Tucson Jim took the words right out of my mouth as they say. It's hard for me as a rookie to comment on a photo from someone as accomplished as you are. There's something missing, just can't put my finger on it though.
